Our client a leading retail organisation is searching for a General Manager who will be responsible to lead oversee and manage all aspects of Regional Operations and to develop and execute regional operations strategy plans proposals and budget inline with business strategy to improve overall productivity and efficiency

Key Performance Areas
Sales Management
Drive and Grow Sales
Set achieve and report operational sales targets
Analyze weekly and monthly trend analysis on sales achievements
Maintain an up to date knowledge of products offered as well as promotional / marketing activities as well as competitors and other stakeholders
Analyze and provide regular feedback on all promotional and marketing initiatives feedback must include weaknesses and learning points
Corporate relationship building and maintenance
Manage external stakeholders to ensure additional revenue streams B2B and B2C

Financial Management
Prepare and control budgets
Review financial statement and use data to improve profitability
Manage budgets efficiently to achieve EBITDA targets
Plan investments within the complex environment Capital Expenditure

Operations
Prepare and implement regional operations plan and executions thereof
Managing executions of plans on a regular basis

People Management
Ensure you attain the right team and skills to achieve company goals
Ensure all employees have completed the on boarding training program
Ensure understanding of Role Profiles and expected standards and coach all staff to identify substandard issues and what corrective action to take
Create a friendly and professional work environment
Manage the performance of employees through observation coaching and assistance with the implementation of action plans to ensure required standards are met
Complete performance reviews for all staff on a biannual basis with development plans in place
Manage Employee Relations
Approves of overtime payments in line with budgets
Drive Culture through organisation Behaviours and Values
Drive Talent Management for the region

Marketing and Visual Management
Ensuring basic visual guidelines are followed
Ensuring events management is implemented according to brief
Implement marketing and promotional material and initiatives according to plan
Understanding profile of your customers and acting/planning accordingly to the profile
Develop and implement local marketing plans
Building and maintaining stakeholder relations

Customer Service
Drive customer experience and relations in line with quality and performance standards
Ensure that all staff delivers required service standards and attends SOP training
Analyze report and implement action plans based on customer experience feedback to enhance levels of customer experience and proactively determine areas of improvement

Requirements
Grade 12/ Matric
BCom or Business Related Qualification/ Preferably an MBA
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position/ role with proven track record of managing retail trade in FMCG industry
Must be able and ready to travel frequently
People management
Ability to think strategically
Organizational skills to work independently
Attention to detail
Managerial maturity
Team play with other functional managers to ensure holistic view
Strong verbal and written communications skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
Strong analytical problemsolving and conceptual skills
