Our client is seeking an experienced handson Warehouse Manager to take ownership of their mediumsized warehouse and lead approximately 30 employees The manager must ensure accurate efficient and timely stock flow from suppliers through the warehouse to our stores

Key responsibilities

Manage daily receiving checking storage replenishment picking dispatch and distribution ensuring stores receive stock accurately and on time
Maintain accurate inventory records and warehouse systems oversee weekly stock counts investigate discrepancies manage claims and stock adjustments and reduce stock loss
Lead warehouse staff and team leaders plan workloads and peakperiod staffing monitor productivity and attendance and manage training performance and discipline
Maintain warehouse health and safety security and housekeeping standards and oversee the safe use and maintenance of equipment and company vehicles
Take responsibility for basic maintenance of the warehouse building inspect the premises identify defects arrange routine upkeep and minor repairs coordinate contractors where needed and escalate major repairs for approval
Coordinate with stores suppliers and head office resolve operational queries maintain accurate documentation and improve warehouse processes and productivity
Respond to afterhours alarm callouts and operational emergencies and work extended hours when required

Candidate requirements

At least 5 years of warehouse management experience with proven responsibility for a team and operation of a comparable size
Retail distribution or clothing or footwear experience would be advantageous
Matric
A relevant warehouse or logistics qualification would be advantageous
Strong knowledge of inventory control warehouse systems and operational procedures
Strong planning staff management communication and problemsolving skills computer literacy in Excel Word and Outlook
A valid drivers licence would be advantageous
A proactive practical leader with a cando attitude who takes ownership supports the team beyond routine duties and demonstrates integrity and accountability
